Association
for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is the national leadership
organization and the voice of microenterprise development. By providing
cutting edge training, knowledge sharing, Federal and State public
policy and advocacy, and communications, AEO empowers a community
of nearly 500 member organizations to be uniquely effective in serving
the needs of micro-entrepreneurs who do not have access to traditional
sources of business education or capital.
Center
for Energy and Economic Diversification (CEED) - houses the Small
Business Development Center (SBDC), the Economic Development
Administration University Center (EDA), and the Petroleum Industry
Alliance (PIA). These units work together in helping the people
and economy of the Permian Basin during a transition from an oil-dominated
economy to a more diversified economy. Efforts are aimed at providing
assistance to the petroleum industry through the PIA in order to
assure that it remains a viable part of the economy well into the
twenty-first century. At the same time CEED works through the SBDC
and EDA to assist individuals and communities in efforts to diversify
the economy as the petroleum sector in the Permian Basin declines.
Center for
Financial Services Innovation develops and distributes real-world
tested research and strategy, provides funding to promising companies,
and facilitates cross-sector business collaboration. We work with
banks, credit unions, technology vendors, alternative service providers,
consumer advocates and policy makers to forge the pioneering relationships,
products and strategies that will transform industry practice and
the lives of underbanked consumers across the economic, geographic
and cultural spectrum.

Midland College Workforce Continuing Education (WFCE) offers courses designed to assist students in developing or enhancing their occupational skills. WFCE also offers retraining for students interested in pursuing new career opportunities as well as certifications and mandatory licensure updates for both technical and non-technical professions. Texas
Association of Regional Councils (TARC) was organized in 1973
by interlocal agreement among Texas' 24 regional councils of governments.
The statewide association assists the regional councils in strengthening
their capabilities to serve their local government members; provides
a forum for the regular exchange of information and ideas; educates
other governmental entities, public and private organizations, and
the general public about the services and functions of regional
councils; and represents the councils before both state and federal
agencies and legislative bodies. Each of the regional councils pays
membership dues to participate.

Department of Rural Affairs (TDRA) (formerly Office of Rural
Community Affairs (ORCA) is dedicated to rural Texas, & makes
the broad resources of state government more accessible to rural
communities. The agency ensures a continuing focus on rural issues,
monitors governmental actions, recommends solutions to problems
affecting rural Texas, and is a provider of rural-focused state
and federal resources
