FACTS TO KNOW.... The 2010 census reports the population in Glasscock County was 1,226. Garden City is the county seat of Glasscock County and covers 901 square miles. Glasscock County was founded in 1889, and was named for George Washington Glasscock, an early settler of the Austin, Texas, area, and surveyed by W.D. Twichell.
