The PBRPC 9-1-1 Department works with the County 9-1-1 Addressing Coordinators in the region, local telephone companies, and wireless companies to ensure every 9-1-1 call is received and managed efficiently at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). We provide planning and technical assistance to PSAPs throughout the Region. Training is offered to all PSAP telecommunicators to maintain State mandated certifications.
The 9-1-1 systems and database maintenance projects are funded
by a local service fee of $.50 cents per local exchange access line
per month. The Equalization Surcharge is a statewide fee imposed
on each non-exempt local exchange access line and wireless telecommunication
connection at the current rate of $0.06 per line or connection per
month..
The Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) is an agency
of the State of Texas charged with the oversight of the Statewide
9-1-1 and Poison Programs.
